What one word would you use to describe your attitude about attending the 20 year reunion?: Unlikely
What have you been doing for the past 10 years and what do you hope to do in the next 10 years?:
Past 10 year? Geez... trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow the heck up. {grin}
Let's see... I've been married for 19 years (no kids, lots of pets), accumulated 3 college degrees and have had multiple career changes. I started off as a teacher in the Upper Dublin School District and was soon promoted to a Director of Supplimental Education. Boy-o-boy, never let them promote you into an administration level position.... ever. I hated that so deeply I left to find a real job. One that did not require me wearing a suit and one that didn't force me to tell my staff "I'm sorry, it's not in the budget".
I meandered around a little as a video game designer, a prop maker for motion pictures (remember the "Mojo Extractor" from Austin Powers?), a writer, a web designer, a musician and as a photographer. Finally I put my suit back on and now work as a Network Manager for Behavioral Health providers in the MidWest. For a job in a suit this one is actually pretty good. (for those of you who work in healthcare I'm that one guy in the entire company that always seems to be able to get you what you need, knows how to deal with insurance agencies and never dumps your call to voicemail).
Yep... it's been an interesting 10+ years.
10 years from now I hope to have successfully doubled the list crazy jobs I have done or perhaps gone to work for myself. I've recently started my own photography "studio" and I hope that me leads down some more interesting paths.
Ahhhh.... There is nothing like not knowing what you want to be when you grow up... and then deciding never to grow up.
From Michael:
It's nice to see that so many of us have become more than what we thought we would have amounted too as we walked away from each other in June of 1987. Each of us a half written novel building towards an unfathomable climax. Our journeys are not even close to completion, the midway not yet visible on the horizon. But in the end, it is not what we preceived of one another that makes each story worth reading, it is that which we have found with in ourselves.
For those interested; here is a little more of me on the web:
